Description

100% UV protection for your children's eyes

Children have larger pupils compared to adults so their highly sensitive retinal cells are more exposed to UV light. However, specially fitted sunglasses (often just 'smaller' versions of adult sunglasses) for children are not commonly found. This results in serious damage to tissue and the skin of the cells of the human eye.

How well do the sunglasses protect lenses?

Sunglass lenses are divided into four categories:

CAT 0 - Very limited protection against sun glare.
CAT 1 - Limited protection against sun glare.
CAT 2 - Good protection against sun glare.
CAT 3 - HIGH PROTECTION AGAINST SUN GLARE.
CAT 4 - Very high protection against extreme sun glare, e.g. (at sea, high mountains, desert)

The SooNice startup chose category 3 glasses because they are perfect for children's eyes.

Thanks to the protective shields, no UV rays hit your child's eyes from the side. These are often reflected by water or snow.

Made for kids:

The sunglasses are made from plastic waste ECONYL nylon, which has two advantages. Firstly, it makes them very light and secondly, they are bendable to a certain extent and cannot break easily. Hinges are often the first to break with glasses, but this startup has taken precautions here too. Together with their production partner in Italy, they have developed click-on hinges so you can simply click the bracket back in if it breaks out.

ECONYL®, regenerated nylon

The ECONYL nylon is made from 100% nylon waste and can be regenerated indefinitely. This means that no new plastic is put into circulation, which was an important concern for the startup.
