The three detectives Justus, Peter and Bob travel to Germany with their Aunt Mathilda and Uncle Titus. Unfortunately, the holiday doesn't go quite to plan. Instead, the three are asked to prove their detective skills in a particularly explosive case: the German championship trophy has disappeared!

The three ??? can't refuse this request. They follow a hot trail that leads them to all 27 football clubs in the Bundesliga. The clues lead them from FC Bayern to Eintracht Braunschweig to SV Hamburg, but the thief seems to be particularly clever and has a few tricks up his sleeve to make things particularly difficult for the detectives...
